Atlantis: Drabbles
Here are all 9 of my drabbles so far. Most are John/Liz, a couple are just general.

"Siege 3"

Endless Static. Time seemed to stop. A second felt like eternity. He didn’t know if he could survive another. Holding his breath, he prayed for a sound.

Anything but static.

“Elizabeth!” He pleaded, wishing to hear her voice.

More static.

With every agonizing second, John felt his hear sink lower.

“I repeat, this is Sheppard, what’s your status?”

Suddenly, there was a break in the static. Elizabeth’s voice filled the Control-Room of the Daedalus. “We’re still here, that’s our status.”

Relief flooded through him, like he’d never felt before, “Don’t scare me like that.”

A smile spread across his face.

The growls that broke the night air only urged her to run faster through the trees. She could only hear the rhythmic pounding of her feet against the ground, and the blood pounding in her ears. There was a moment of fear where she believed that Sheppard was no longer behind her, and she slowed to turn around, but John was instantly by her side, grasping her forearm, and urging her on.

They ran through some bushes, unaware of them ripping at their skin “They’re getting closer!” Yet John needn’t have even spoken, as the growls behind them grew closer.

"What Made Him Do It"

Maybe he’d lost his mind. It was definitely a possibility. Stupidity was undoubtedly a factor too. What could he say, he was human after all.

It’s not like he’d planned it. He’d just been standing there. What was the danger in that? But she was just so damn sexy. Well, when wasn’t she? He had delivered one of his jokes. Which weren’t really all that funny, but still it made her smile. He’d just reacted.

Simply put, he kissed her.

Insanity was definitely the reason.

Then she kissed him back.

What made him do it? Honestly, he didn’t really care.

John’s hazel eyes were glued on the weapon pointed directly at his chest. He drew in a slow, shaky breath as his stomach began performing ridiculous somersaults. His mind in turmoil, trying to understand what was happening.

“I said, ‘drop the gun’!” The gun wielder repeated, his voice urging on the edge of hysterics.

John looked at the man’s face. “You don’t want to do this.”

“But I have to.” Rodney’s voice was barely a whisper as he held John’s steadfast gaze. “I’m sorry John.”

“Rodney,” His voice pleaded- begged his friend.

Rodney closed his eyes and pulled the trigger.

"Aware"- Double Drabble

He wasn’t aware of the people that had crowded around them, or Rodney’s hysteric cries. He wasn’t aware of Ronon, only metres away, beating the crap out of a man; a man who had betrayed them.

He was only aware of Elizabeth cradled in his lap as he sat in the middle of the ‘gate room floor.

She looked up at him with a small smile on her pale lips, “It’ll be ok,” her voice was barely a whisper.

“Shh… don’t talk.” John fought to keep back tears as he pulled her head to his chest with one hand, while the other pressed tightly against her stomach, trying to stop the flow of blood that was slowly seeping past his fingers.

She weakly pulled her head back and looked up at him. “John…”

John nodded. “I know.” He leaned down and placed a feather light kiss on her curly, brown head. “I know…”

Elizabeth rested her hand on top of his. John looked down to where their hands were joined. The blood spread across her shirt, a dark patch in the red of the material.

“I feel like I’m naked!”

“Rodney, calm down.”

“Calm down?! If I don’t find it, I’m a dead man!”

A piece of expensive looking equipment went flying past John’s head and smashed into the wall behind him.

“HEY!” John yelled fiercely, grabbing the hysterical astrophysicist’s attention. “It’ll be here somewhere, but let’s try not to destroy the entire lab looking for it. Elizabeth wouldn’t be too happy about that.”

“Where can it possibly be? I left it right here on the table.” He frantically pushed more equipment aside. “Oh my god! I’m going to die!”

“It’s just a computer, Mckay”

"Anger" - Sequel to Panic ^

Rodney turned on the Colonel incredulously. “Just a computer?! Are you serious?!”

John simply shrugged.

“My life is on that thing!”

Suddenly, Rodney noticed the small grin on John’s lips and, if it were possible, his eyes grew wider.

“You… you did this!” His eyes narrowed, shooting daggers.

John stood from his perch on bench stool, raising his hands up defensively in front of him. “Let’s not jump to conclusions.” But the huge grin on his face gave him away.

“Where is it?!” Rodney demanded.

Another shrug, “I have no idea.” Smirk.

Rodney lunged, “I’m so going to kill you!!”

"Welcome Home" - Written for a competition over at

Her hair was longer.
He didn’t mind.
She looked skinnier,
Perhaps her clothes were just tighter…
Was that leather?
A darkness lurked behind her eyes.
He wanted to fight away the pain

If only he could turn back time.

Then she was standing before him,
Her green eyes only on his.
Forgotten were the dozen armed soldiers who didn't believe.

But he did.

His arms were around her in an instant
Crushing her body to his.

Something that had been gone for so long
Was now where it belonged.

John Sheppard sighed and whispered in her ear,
“Welcome home, Elizabeth.”

“Are you sure about this, Rodney?”

Rodney looked at Sheppard and briefly hesitated. “Yes, let’s just do it already.” He turned back to his laptop and executed the command.

The pod before them hummed to life. John and Ronon stepped forward to catch the unconscious body that fell forwards. Rodney stumbled out of the way as they placed him on the waiting gurney. Keller instantly began checking the man’s vitals.

Moments later, his eyes were flickering opening. “What…?”

Rodney was instantly at his side, his face beaming. “We did it Carson! We figured it out! You’re going to be alright.”
